Privacy Policy

PippMoney ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data when you use the app.
1. The short version
We don't collect, transmit, store, sell, or share any personal information or financial data. Everything you enter into PippMoney stays on your device. There is no server, no account, no analytics, no advertising SDK, and no third-party tracker in the app.
2. What data the app handles
PippMoney is an expense-tracking app. It records the information you enter, such as:
- Transaction amounts, currencies, dates, notes, vendors, and tags
- Categories and wallets you create or customize
- App preferences (language, theme, default currency)
All of this information is stored in a local SQLite database file on your device (managed by Apple's or Google's standard application sandbox). It is never sent off your device by the app.
3. Personal information we collect
None. PippMoney does not require an account, an email, a phone number, or any other identifier to use. We do not have a server that receives your data.
4. Analytics & tracking
PippMoney does not include any analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or behavioural-tracking SDKs. We do not track you across apps or websites. We do not use cookies (the app is not a website).
5. Backups you create
The app lets you export your data to a JSON file using the system share sheet (iOS) or file picker (Android). When you do this, the file goes wherever you choose to send it — for example, your Files app, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, or another app of your choosing.
Once a backup file leaves PippMoney, it is governed by the privacy policy of the destination you picked, not ours. We have no access to it.
6. Permissions the app may request
- Files / Storage — only when you tap Export or Import, so the system file picker can read or write your backup file.
PippMoney does not request access to contacts, location, microphone, camera, photos, or any other sensitive system permissions.
7. Children's privacy
PippMoney does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children. The app does not have an account system or any user-identifiable data flow.
8. Apple App Store & Google Play
When you download PippMoney from the App Store or Google Play, those platforms may collect their own data (such as download statistics or crash reports at the OS level). That data is collected by Apple or Google under Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy, respectively, and we have no control over it.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how PippMoney handles data (for example, adding an optional cloud-sync feature in the future), we will update this page and indicate the new "last updated" date. Any future feature that involves sending data off your device will be opt-in.
