Privacy Policy

PippMoney ("we", "our", or "the app") is designed to be private by default. This policy explains, in plain language, exactly what happens to your data when you use the app.

1. The short version

Your financial entries are stored locally on your device. PippMoney does not require an account and we do not operate a server that receives your transactions. If you use backup features, a copy of your data may be stored with your cloud provider. To display, unlock, or restore Premium, the app uses RevenueCat with an anonymous app user identifier; purchases are processed by the app store and RevenueCat. The app does not include advertising or behavioural tracking SDKs.

2. What data the app handles

PippMoney is an expense-tracking app. It records the information you enter, such as:

This information is stored in a local SQLite database file in the app's sandbox. It is not sent to a PippMoney server. It may leave the device only when you export or restore a backup, use iCloud Backup on iOS, or allow the Android system backup service to back up app data.

3. Accounts and developer access

PippMoney does not require an account, an email address, or a phone number to track spending. We do not have access to the contents of your local database or backups stored in your personal cloud account.

4. Premium purchases

PippMoney uses RevenueCat to offer, verify, and restore the optional Premium in-app purchase. RevenueCat processes purchase history and an anonymous app user identifier for purchase validation and entitlement functionality. The app may contact RevenueCat when checking Premium status even if you do not complete a purchase. RevenueCat does not receive the transactions, wallets, notes, or categories you enter into PippMoney. Purchases are also subject to the privacy practices of Apple App Store or Google Play.

5. Backups and exports

You can export a ZIP backup using the system share flow and save it wherever you choose, such as Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email, or another app. You can later import a backup you select.

On iOS, Premium users can optionally enable iCloud Backup, make a backup immediately, and restore a backup from their iCloud container. On Android, Google-managed system backup may back up and restore app data according to your device and Google account backup settings. Backup files are governed by the privacy terms of the storage provider; we cannot read them.

6. Analytics and tracking

PippMoney does not include advertising SDKs or behavioural analytics that track how you use the app. RevenueCat processes purchase activity only as described above. We do not use financial entries for advertising or sell them to third parties.

7. Permissions the app may request

PippMoney does not request access to contacts, location, microphone, camera, photos, or any other sensitive system permissions.

8. Children's privacy

PippMoney is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app has no PippMoney account system.

9. Apple App Store & Google Play

When you download PippMoney from the App Store or Google Play, those platforms may collect their own data (such as download statistics or crash reports at the OS level). That data is collected by Apple or Google under Apple's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy, respectively, and we have no control over it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how PippMoney handles data, we will update this page and indicate the new "last updated" date. Optional iCloud Backup on iOS remains user-controlled through settings in the app.
