Common questions

Where is my data stored?

On your device only, in a local SQLite database inside the app's sandbox. PippMoney has no server. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How do I back up my data?

Open Settings → Export, and save the JSON file somewhere safe (Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive, email it to yourself, etc.). To restore, use Settings → Import on the same or a new device.

I lost my data after deleting / reinstalling the app.

Because PippMoney has no cloud, deleting the app deletes the database. If you don't have a backup file, the data cannot be recovered. Please export a backup periodically.

Why does a one-off purchase show a tiny daily cost?

That's the Lifespan mode at work — a big purchase you'll use for a long time gets spread evenly across each day you'll own it. It's the honest daily cost of that thing in your life.

How do I change the language or currency?

Open Settings — the language picker is at the top, and the default currency picker is right below. Each transaction can also have its own currency.
