Common questions
How do I automatically log Apple Pay transactions?
On iOS 17 or later, install the ready-made PippMoney Wallet automation, confirm the cards you want to track, and choose Run Immediately.
Apple requires each person to approve their own Wallet cards and automation permissions. PippMoney cannot select those on your behalf.
Where is my data stored?
Your working data is stored locally in a SQLite database inside the app's sandbox. PippMoney has no account or server that receives your transactions. Copies can exist in backups you create or enable. See the Privacy Policy for details.
How do I back up my data?
Anyone can open Settings → Export Backup and save a ZIP file somewhere safe, then use Settings → Import Backup to restore it. On iOS, Premium users can also enable Auto Backup, tap Backup now, or restore from iCloud. On Android, app backup and restore is managed by Google's system backup service when it is enabled on your device.
I lost my data after deleting / reinstalling the app.
Deleting the app can remove its local database. Restore an exported ZIP backup, or on iOS restore an available iCloud backup if you had enabled Premium backup. Android may restore data automatically during device setup or reinstall if system backup captured it. Without any available backup, we cannot recover your data.
How does a purchase become a daily cost?
A Direct transaction is counted on the single day it happens. Choose Lifespan for something you will use over time, such as a laptop or clothing, and its amount is spread across the days you enter. Recurring expenses and daily budgets also contribute to each active day.
How do I change the language or currency?
Open Settings to choose your display language and default currency. Each transaction can also have its own currency; totals are shown separately by the currently selected currency.
What does Premium unlock?
Premium is a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks unlimited wallets and transactions, avatar customization, and iCloud Backup on iOS. If you reinstall the app while using the same store account, open Premium and tap Restore Purchase.
